I thought it would be best to publish the majority of this post in audio form.
This happened a little while ago, but thought you might find it amusing.
The BBC page with the evidence is still available if you'd like to see it.

I've been using an Android phone (the LG GW620) for the past couple of months, and so I've used a variety of apps in this time. Here are a few that I'd recommend:

    • Twidroyd - a very capable Twitter app
    • YouVersion - the Android Bible app (and Touch Bible Free is useful for when you don't have an internet connection)
    • Newspapers - a useful interface for accessing the web sites of various news sources from around the world
    • Quickpedia - as it sounds, an Android app for Wikipedia
    • RAC Traffic - I use this pretty much daily to see which route home from work I should take
    • Aldiko Book Reader - a nice book reader with a decent selection of books to download (such as the one I'm currently reading: For the Win by Cory Doctorow)
I also like the built in web browser and GPS/map app.
I'm trying to get in to using Google Tasks, and that has a nice mobile site that syncs with the desktop version.

Are you an Android user too? If so, what apps would you recommend to me?

Well, now there's  been another pause in my blogging! Sorry about that. I'm quite busy at the moment, using most of my free time studying for the CompTIA A+ exams. These help show that I know what I'm talking about in the tech world. Which I'd like to think I do!
A couple of useful resources for the study have been: Professor Messer's Free A+ Training Course (a set of videos covering every aspect of the A+ course, and the book: "CompTIA A+ Certification All-in-One Exam Guide, Seventh Edition (Exams 220-701 & 220-702)" which also covers the course in a lot of detail, and has a CD with test exams on, which is useful.
I think it is has been good using a couple of different resources, as I've been able to reinforce the learning though seeing links between the two sources.
My exams are on October 11, so I'll be able to let you know how I do after that.

Last night I helped my friend Jon set up his blog using his new domain: jonbutler.org.uk and also helped him get the Twitter gadget to show up in his theme (a process that involved setting up a separate page hosted elsewhere, then linking to it via an iframe. Hopefully Posterous will just let people add the Twitter gadget directly some time!) . It is a good read, so I recommend you check it out.

Well, just wanted to give you a brief overview for now, and reinforce my commitment to this blog: I will be back soon(ish)!
